More About the Timeless Wilderness Project

Forward by Alan Ross

I am truly thrilled and honored that Alan Ross has agreed to write the forward for this book. Alan is a renowned photographer whose unique vision combines traditional photographic methods with today’s technology.

Having worked directly alongside Ansel Adams as his photographic assistant for many years, Alan was handpicked by Ansel to print his Yosemite Special Edition negatives. To this day, Alan remains the sole individual granted permission to print Adams' negatives—an extraordinary distinction!

I first met Alan in 1979 while attending a workshop with Ansel Adams in Yosemite National Park. After 43 years, our paths crossed again when my wife and I participated in Alan's Yosemite workshop in May 2022. That memorable encounter reignited my passion for publishing my photography and sharing it with the world.

Why is this Project Important?

Timeless Wilderness serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving these natural treasures for future generations. It emphasizes the need to visit and protect these iconic landscapes, celebrating their rich history and vibrant cultures.
