About the Delicate Arch Photograph
The hike to Delicate Arch was arduous but filled with anticipation. Upon reaching the iconic arch, I set up my equipment and began the wait for the perfect light. Hours passed, and a spring squall suddenly swept through the area, bringing with it rain and blustery winds. I took cover, protecting my gear and hoping the storm would soon pass.
As the storm moved on, the sky began to clear. The sun broke through from the west, casting a brilliant glow on Delicate Arch. I quickly adjusted my camera settings to ISO 100, with the lens set at 47mm, an aperture of f11, and an exposure time of 1/100th of a second. The arch stood illuminated against the darkened sky, the freshly washed landscape adding to its vibrant hue.
I pressed the shutter, capturing the striking contrast between the sunlit arch and the stormy backdrop. The photograph revealed the arch's rugged elegance, framed by the dramatic light and shadow play created by the departing storm. Reviewing the image on my camera's display, I felt a sense of triumph.
